The MaxiMill slot milling cutter system closes a gap in the range of milling tools with indexable inserts with a single programme for slot milling which can be used to machine slots and grooves and perform parting off processes reliably. The series is based on existing grooving inserts from the SX system and therefore covers virtually the entire range of possibilities for ISO P/M/K/N/S. With its wide range of tool carriers, MaxiMill – Slot-SX offers the choice between the most common DIN connections, by thread or via a shell mill adapter. The internal coolant holes on the MaxiMill – Slot-SX ensure optimal chip control during slot milling. Time-consuming manual removal of chips from grooves, or chip jams and material deposits that have negative consequences for the workpiece, are eliminated thanks to an efficient coolant lubricant supply. Improved surface qualities and heat regulation are the result, alongside a significant increase in the service life of the tools.
